For my first Editorial I took my inspiration from Steven Klein who did work on the 2016 V99 V-Magazine cover for Lady Gaga as his muse. The photographs I was inspired by was Lady Gaga in Alexander McQueen clothing in a white walled studio and using the flashguns to get over head light on the model. I feel as though I should use my house as the location as I have a white washed wall which will be a good contrast to the dark make up and clothing on my model. My model will be my cousin as she seems to fit the role really well and also her facial shape is really close to Lady Gaga's. I will be manually manipulating the ISO and Shutter speed in order to get my crisp sharp photographs. The flash gun will be used here to get the lighting brighter and create a crisp clean sharp photograph.

Steven Klein Re-creation Shoot

The photoshoot for our first editorial work did come accross very well as I did the make-up for the model and found my model to be similar in facial shape to Lady Gaga from V99.
My model had naturally shorter hair and I could not get the right hair bun correct as Lady Gaga's bun was far down to the bottom on the back of the head and my model was putting her bun as far down but it got to the back of her head at the top.
The photographs came along very well as they were really similar only issue with technical things is the fact that in the photograph there seems to be more than one flash gun being used therefore I can not get the exact same lighting.
The location was great as it gave me a good studio wall which I could then take further and edit to how the image was.
The reasons why I did not change my model was that no one had similar facial features to the original model therefore it was very similar.
The photoshoot in general was successful and showed alot of similarities between mine and Steven Klein's work such as a styles and designing.
Out of the whole shoot I decided that these three photographs were the best because they showed alot of similarities between Klein's work and mine. The positioning of the model and the use of the flashgun were in great proportion to the work of Klein. The model was very versatile in terms of movement and positioning. Also the two small images were very good as they were edited to stand out from the white background just like the original photographs.
The image on the left is the most successful and the lighting and make-up and the gems on the fingers.

The photographs on the right are the photographs re-creating the side body shot and these were the most successful as they were very sharp and were similar to Klein's work.
